“You have the patience of Job.” Have you ever heard that statement? I remember hearing that all the time growing up. Someone who exhibited great patience, especially under difficult circumstances was said to have patience, the patience of Job. We have all had our patience tested; a teacher in math class, a coach working with little league kids, house training a new puppy, or a crying baby at 3:00 in the morning (some of you understand!).
We know the story of Job. Job lost everything; his wealth and business, his children and family, and even his health. Like any of us, he wanted God to explain why he was facing all this turmoil. Even in his pain, Job did not blame or curse God for his pain. Instead, he praised God. In the end, Job realized that his understanding was limited. God, the creator of the universe, has infinite wisdom and will always be faithful.
Psalm 36:5 states, “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.” This verse encourages us to lift our eyes to the greatness of God’s love and faithfulness. His love reaches higher than the heavens, and His faithfulness stretches beyond what we can see or measure. This is a beautiful reminder that God’s care is never limited by our circumstances, our weakness, or our questions. His faithfulness is bigger than whatever we are facing today.
Be encouraged: there is no place so low that God’s love cannot reach, and no season so uncertain that His faithfulness cannot sustain you. Even when you cannot see the full picture, you can trust the God whose love surrounds you and whose promises stand firm. Focus on Jesus ~ His faithfulness is not barely enough; it is more than enough for every need.
Prayer: Faithful God, thank You that Your love reaches farther than my fears and Your faithfulness is greater than my circumstances. Encourage my heart today and help me rest in the truth that You are always near, always good, and always enough. Amen.
Peace & Blessing!
