History
J. L. Scott & Pastor Wallace C. Scott created Galilean Ministries in 2015. Born out of a relationship that has provided spiritual and personal edification for each other, the Scotts knew they had an opportunity to inspire other men. It is with that evangelical spirit that Galilean Ministries was founded.
The word “Galilean” comes from “Galilean Service.” For several years, I spent a week of my summer serving as a Christian youth counselor. Towards the end of the camp week, we held a “Galilean Service;” a time of worship and praise. It was an opportunity for the youth to make their personal decisions (or rededications) to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. It was at this very service that I made my own decision to commit my life to Christ.
I have had the opportunity and privilege to speak with many youths over the years. Sharing words of encouragement, teaching bible study or recalling my own personal testimony during camp week or youth rallies has always been a commitment of giving back. As a youth, several counselors offered prayers and support before and after my decision to walk with Christ. I believe all Christians are to serve as evangelists and it has been an honor to allow God to use my voice for His kingdom.
In 2015, after several difficult years personally including the loss of employment, I again felt God called me to serve; this time to all men. As men, we are husbands, fathers, workers, business owners, church members and just regular guys living our lives in our communities. Above all, I knew that there is a special brotherly bond of support and encouragement that only other men could provide. Our shared challenges with life created a unique opportunity to use own personal experiences, along with scriptures, to bring a voice of hope. That is why I created the Galilean Ministries blog. This is a place of fellowship for men and, on behalf of Pastor Scott, we welcome you here for your daily dose of God`s goodness!
We pray for you: that God will touch your spirit today. No matter where you are in life, as you read this, we trust in His gracious plan for your life. Right where you are, our prayer is that God’s Word and the messages we share will bring you inspiration, encouragement and hope to lift you in your daily walk.
"6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:6-10)."
