One of the great Old Testament prophets was Samuel. It was Samuel who was sent to Jesse to notify him that one of his sons would be anointed as the new king. Before Samuel was a prophet, it was his mother, Hannah, who prayed to God because she could not bear children. In the presence of Eli the priest, she prayed that if God would remember her and give her a son, she would give him to the Lord. 1 Samuel (1:17-18) tell us, Eli answered, “Go in peace, and may the God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him. She said, “May your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then she went her way and ate something, and her face was no longer downcast.
God never asks us to hide our worries from Him. Instead, He lovingly invites us to bring every anxious thought, fear, and burden into His presence. First Peter 5:7 is a beautiful reminder that we can release what weighs us down because the One who holds us truly cares for us.
Anxiety loses its grip when we remember that God is both near and attentive. When we Focus on Jesus, we do not have to pretend to be strong; we only need to be willing to place our concerns in His hands.
Peace & Blessings!
