He provides for us

06-24-2026 - John Scott | Philippians 4:19

I love those biblical stories of struggle and loss. To me, they are the examples of surrender and humility, along with God’s grace and goodness. One of those is the story of Joseph and his brothers. When Joseph was abandoned and sold into slavery, God later used him to bring mercy and restoration to his father and brothers. “So Joseph settled his father and his brothers in Egypt and gave them property in the best part of the land, the district of Rameses, as Pharaoh directed.12 Joseph also provided his father and his brothers and all his father’s household with food, according to the number of their children.” (Genesis 47:11-12).

God’s goodness is often seen in the quiet, faithful ways He provides for us day by day. He knows every need we carry—those we speak aloud and those we hold silently in our hearts. This promise reminds us that our lives are not sustained by our own strength alone, but by the generous care of a loving Father.

The Lord does not merely give out of obligation; He provides from the richness of His glory in Christ Jesus. His goodness is abundant, personal, and perfectly timed. Even when we are unsure of how things will work out, when we Focus on Jesus, we can trust that God sees us, cares for us, and will supply what is needed according to His wisdom and love. It was true for Joseph and true for Job. He, too, will provide for you!

Peace & Blessings!

Prayer: Father, thank You for Your goodness and for the faithful way You care for every part of our lives. Teach us to trust You more deeply, even in moments of need and uncertainty. Remind us that You are our provider, and let our hearts rest in the sufficiency of Your love and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
