Have you ever been stressed? Okay, feels like an obvious question and answer. Bigger question is how do you deal with it? In the early days of my career, a colleague taught me to stop ~ take 3 big deep breaths, one at a time, and hold it for 3 seconds, and then slowly release. It was amazing to feel the effect in such a simple exercise. Sometimes, to remove that stress, we must be still.
Throughout life’s uncertainties, Psalm 46:10 encourages us to pause—to “be still”—and recognize the sovereignty of God. When we quiet our anxious thoughts and daily distractions, we discover a profound truth: God is present, active, and exalted above all circumstances. This invitation to stillness is not merely a call for rest, but a reminder to surrender our worries and yield our hearts to God’s will. It teaches us that even when things seem out of control, God is working out His purpose, and we can trust in His plan.
Trusting God’s purpose means believing that He sees the bigger picture and that His intentions are always for our good, even when we cannot understand the journey. When we embrace the truth that God will be exalted among the nations and in the earth, it reminds us that His purpose reaches beyond our individual lives and encompasses all creation. As we practice stillness and faith, we allow God’s peace to fill us, knowing that He is both our refuge and our guide. Let us trust that God’s purpose will prevail and find comfort in His unshakable presence.
When you need a quiet moment, Focus on Jesus. You can trust in Him to be your source of peace.
Peace & Blessings!
