03-25-2026 - John Scott | 1 Corinthians 13:4-13

1 Corinthians 13, often called the “Love Chapter,” paints a vivid portrait of what true Christian love looks like in action. Paul describes love as patient and kind, not envious or boastful, not proud or rude. This love is selfless, bearing all things, believing all things, hoping all things, and enduring all things. Love, as defined in scripture, is not just an emotion but a daily choice—one that reflects the very heart of Christ to those around us. When we love in this way, we mirror God’s own character and invite His presence into our relationships.

The example given in 1 Corinthians 13 challenges us to go beyond words and intentions. It reminds us that spiritual gifts, talents, or knowledge mean little if they are not grounded in genuine love. By seeking to love as Jesus loves—sacrificially, unconditionally, and persistently—we become living testimonies of the gospel. Through acts of kindness, forgiveness, and humility, we show the world a love that transforms hearts and builds up the body of Christ.

Let us be encouraged to put this love into practice each day. Start with your Focus on Jesus! May we strive to embody the love described in scripture, allowing it to shape our actions and attitudes. In doing so, we honor God and fulfill the greatest commandment—to love Him and to love others as ourselves.

Peace & Blessings!
