Growing up, my parents always instilled in me the importance of being grateful whenever someone chooses to do something for you. Knowing that they did not have to do it, the fact that they chose to do it for you, is something you should truly be grateful for. In our text, Samuel is talking to the children of Israel after they chose a King like the other nations over the God that protected and watch over them all their years. Samuel challenged them to really think about the decision they were making and look to serve and follow the God who has brought you a mighty long way. I pray that I never become ungrateful to the God who has saved me, blessed me, protected me, and provided for me all my life. Choose God!!
