05-18-2021 - John Scott | Romans 5:6-8

When I was in seminary, we learned about the word justification. justification is defined as the doctrine that god pardons, accepts, and declares a sinner to be “just” on the basis of Christ righteousness, which results in god’s peace, his spirit and salvation.” (Theopedia)
In other words, justification is that thing God does for us regardless of how good we try to be or fail to be. The thing that is driving justification is God’s love for us. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” (John 3:16, NRSV) When I look back over my life and think about where I was before Christ and where I am now with Christ, I can only say thank you for your Love, Salvation and Peace.

Amen!
