What is love? How do we demonstrate our power of love? Is it the love of our spouse, children, friends or family? There are so many dimensions and elements to love and all too often we think only of love in generic terms. Scripture gives us God’s example of His love.

The biblical significance of love in the word is Great Love or Agape Love. The Agape love is the greatest form of love as it is the very character of who God truly is. In his 1st letter to the church in Corinth, Paul describes this love in detail throughout chapter 13. It is summarized in verse 13 stating, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” Our charge: keep love constantly in effect and get in touch with love signs and calls.

Show your love for others every opportunity you get. Keep your family close. Keep your friends close. Keep your loved ones close. Tell them all that you love them! Matthew 5 tells us 44” But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.”

Remember Christ’ words … love your enemies too! That is God’s power of love living in you!
Amen!
