03-24-2020 - John Scott | John 20:24-25

One of the things that can creep into our daily mindsets is this thing called doubt. If we are not careful, doubt can paralyze us. In our text, many of the disciples had seen the risen Savior. However, Thomas, one of the twelve, did not see it. He made the point of telling them he was not there. Therefore, I need to see some proof before I believe that the Savior has risen. Reading this, many have criticized Thomas for doubting that the Lord had risen. Although he talked about this on many occasions with his disciples, the mere fact that one of them was doubting becomes a little troubling. However, let’s not be too hard on Thomas. Truth be told, all of us have a little Thomas in us. We too can have some doubts about what actually happened. Jesus would ultimately satisfy Thomas` request and Thomas would move from unbelief to belief.

Although we may not have been there when Jesus died and rose again, we can rest assured that it happened. Our belief in the Jesus Resurrection, helps us to walk by faith and not by sight. Although I was not there when Jesus died and rose again, I do know and feel Him in my heart and that is good enough for me. Amen!
