02-13-2020 - John Scott | 2 Corinthians 4:7

When I was a little boy, I always looked forward to the moment when I could brag about something. Bragging was like a badge of honor. I wore it proudly whenever someone tried to talk about me or get the best of me. For that moment, I felt as though I was on top of the world.

Paul, in his letter to the church in Corinth, speaks of bragging rights as well. However, the bragging rights he speaks of has less to do with us and more to do with God. Paul, speaks about the power and presence of God being in us so that the world can see more of God. I have slowly learned that all my successes and accomplishments had little to do with me and more to do with God. If it had not been for the Lord depositing his treasure in me, there was little I could have accomplished. Today, therefore, I choose to brag on God and not myself. Thank you Lord for choosing me to do your will.

To God be the Glory!
