Setting the Stage

02-04-2020 - John Scott | 1 Corinthians 1:1-3

One of the things I have discovered in life is that things just don’t happen. Usually, something is done or initiated that facilitates the possibility of something happening or not happening.

As we draw inspiration from our text, Paul wrote this letter to the church of Corinth as a way to address the division that was taking place in the church. Before dealing with the division, he wrote some key points in the first nine verses of 1 Corinthians, chapter one. In those verses, he points out the importance of being true to your calling, being thankful for the Grace received and believe in the fact that God is faithful. All of these character traits will help in resolving any issue one may be facing or dealing with in the church. When you look at this closely, Paul was encouraging the church of Corinth to set the stage for reconciliation and unity among the believers. As believers of God, it is important that we set the stage for our lives and church, so as to experience the greatness of God.

Amen!
