12-24-2019 - John Scott | Romans 10:9-10

As a little kid, I was taught this old adage, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” I believe the writer of this saying was referring to negative comments or words being said to you. Well, I come to tell you today that there is something that if you don’t say the words, it will hurt you as well. In the book of Romans, Paul lays out the requirements for salvation. Here, he merely encourages the reader to confess with thy mouth and believe in thy heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. Once you say this, you are saved. My public confession of my belief helps catapult me into a new life with Christ. All because of what I said and believe. AMEN!!
