#BeMore - Trusting

10-30-2019 - John Scott | 1 Peter 2:1-3

Have you ever found yourself struggling with guilt? Trust me you are not alone. I know all too well that feeling of guilt. Those past missteps that you can’t forgive yourself for; they can cripple your spiritual growth. Recently, I have been wrestling with my past; shame over poor decisions, selfishness, and sinful behavior. How do I deal with that? It makes you feel like you are lost to God. As believers, what are we supposed to do?

Do you think that God ever loses His love for you? Do you believe that He could never forgive you for what you have said & done in the past? If you`re a believer, God doesn`t see you as an enemy when you fail or struggle. He sees you as a child needing your fathers help! Here is a bigger question. What if you are not a believer? What if you have never truly confessed your sin to God, asked Him for His forgiveness and accepted His Son as your personal Savior? Guess what, He still knows you need your Heavenly Father. Why? Because God is LOVE! It is this love, the essence of who He is, that offers forgiveness, grace and mercy.

Today…Be More. Be more trusting! We must always remember our role. When we struggle with our choices and the shame that may follow, remember one step at a time. Ask the Lord Jesus to guide you back to Him. Just like as a baby become a toddler, then a preschooler, then on to elementary, middle, and high school...so does your progression through your spiritual life. With each stage comes learning, experiences and those life tests; both announced and unannounced. Christ, in Matthew 6, tells us “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33 NIV). That is the plan towards greater trust!
