06-13-2019 - John Scott | Exodus 1:8

I was once told that if you forget your history, you are bound to repeat past mistakes. Well, in our biblical text, we come to the opening of the story of Moses. The writer of Exodus is careful in telling us that a new king rose up in Egypt that did not know the history of Joseph. When we fail to familiarize ourselves with the history of some things, we leave ourselves challenged in the area of understanding our present and future. It is clear that this king, not recognizing history, failed to have the same love that Joseph had for the people of that day.

Not knowing our history can cause us to lose respect for what God has placed before us. Don’t allow yourself to be uninformed regarding your history. Knowing your history will only help in bettering your present and future.

Amen!!!
