06-06-2019 - John Scott | Genesis 32:27-28

In the many stories that are covered in the bible, the one that is often read or talked about is the story of Jacob and Esau. Without telling the whole story, we know that Jacob tricks his brother out of his birthright. This led to Jacob having to flee his home and live elsewhere. Although Jacob did not have a favorable beginning, he did have a wonderful ending. Somewhere along the line, Jacob got right with God and God blessed him and his family.

I am convinced that this did not come without a fight. Jacob wrestled with an Angel and won. Because he was victorious in the struggle, God did a new thing in his life. His name was changed to show God’s plan and direction for his life. In life, we too will have to fight for what we believe in. Fighting with and for God will only take us where God wants us to go.

Amen!!!
