Character Witness

02-19-2019 - John Scott | Acts 1:8

In the court of law, people are often called to testify before a jury and judge, so as to verify the character of a person or persons. The person is often referred to as a "character witness." As believers of God, who testifies on God’s behalf? In the book of Acts, Luke shares the story of Jesus conversation with the disciples prior to his ascension into Heaven. Jesus speaks of the promise of the Holy Spirit, which was to take place on the Day of Pentecost. Once the people were empowered by the Holy Spirit, they were told to be witnesses all over the world.

The challenge for the disciples then and us today is to be a witness for God and Jesus Christ. How we think, speak and live are all part of our witness for God. Are you a good character witness? My prayer is that your witness for God is strong and mighty. Amen!!
