Many of you remember the story of Jacob and Esau. Jacob is known for having conned his brother, Esau out of his birthright. His actions resulted in him having to flee from his home. He would ultimately end up at his uncle, Laban’s home. While there, he developed an affection and love for one of Laban’s daughter, Rachel. Hearing this and knowing this, Laban told Jacob he would have to wait seven years before he could have Rachel. After waiting seven years, Jacob looked forward to the day that he would have Rachel. However, Laban would trick Jacob and give him Rachel’s sister, Leah. After receiving Leah as a wife, Jacob was then told to wait and serve Laban seven more years for Rachel. Jacob would do so and ultimately receive Rachel for his wife. How long would you serve and wait on God to bless you? The answer to that question really sits with the one who is waiting. I will just tell you that waiting on the Lord is common among believers. However, what may seem like forever with us, is a short time with God. I choose to wait on the Lord, because I know it’s worth it.
Amen!
