04-30-2025 - John Scott | Romans 12:1

God’s covenant with Abraham established him as the father of many nations, promising him descendants as numerous as the stars and the land of Canaan as their inheritance. This covenant is a cornerstone of Jewish, Christian, and Islamic traditions, solidifying Abraham’s role as a patriarch of faith.

Abraham’s life is foundational to the faith and history of the Hebrew people. His story highlights his unwavering faith and obedience to God. His character was epitomized by his humility. When God called him to leave his homeland and journey to an unknown land, Abraham trusted Him completely.

His faith was tested multiple times, most notably when he was asked to sacrifice his son Isaac, yet he remained steadfast, believing in God’s promises. “Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”” Genesis? ?22?:?2? ?NIV??

When it came time, Abraham was ready to follow the will of God and sacrifice his son. ““Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”” Genesis? ?22?:?12? ?NIV??

Do we have faith like Abraham? Do you remember a time when you knew that the only answer to a difficult situation was the pray and give it to God’s trusted hands? Are we ready and willing to put God first in our lives, above all things? Like Abraham, we will have our obedience tested. Also, like Abraham, God has a special plan for each of us. When we Focus on Jesus, we can 100% confident that our sacrifice for His glory will always bring us His abundant blessings!

Peace & Blessings!
