12-31-2024 - John Scott | Acts 1:8

There is an old saying, “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” From my understanding the author of this phrase referred to how power is handled by those who had it all to themselves. However, Jesus spoke of a Power that was from above. The purpose of the power was to be an example of Jesus Christ and tell others about the goodness and greatness of God. This power was not self-seeking, but self-sacrificial. God’s power is not so that you be lifted up, but that God be lifted up. “If I be lifted up, I will draw all men unto me.” John 12:32.

To God be the glory!
