11-20-2024 - John Scott | 2 Corinthians 5:17

Saul was known as a threat to the disciples of Jesus Christ along with those who were followers of The Way. He led the charge to seek out and arrest any person who was a believer of Christ and put them in prison.

When I look at Saul, one thing I recognize is that he, like so many of the religious leaders of the time, never believed. Their “religion” would not allow them to accept Christ and His teachings. In the love and grace of Jesus Christ, He has a plan for Saul; a new beginning.

In the book of Acts, we read “As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied. “Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”” ~Acts? ?9?:?3?-?6? ?NIV??

What does Jesus tell us about Saul? In verse 15, it states, “But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.” ~Acts? ?9?:?15? ?NIV?

Christ had a great plan for Saul, a new beginning! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
??2 Corinthians? ?5?:?17? ?NIV??. After Saul’s conversion, which included a name change to Paul, he went on to become one of the strongest voices for salvation through acceptance of Jesus Christ.

Are you feeling lost? Looking for that next stage in your path? Focus on Jesus to find that new beginning. He has great things planned for you and your life. Start by committing your life to Christ. He loves you and He will guide you!
