One of the things I find so interesting and troubling is the things we pass on to others. On many occasions, we pass nothing on to the next generations and on other occasions we pass things on that has no lasting value in the life of the next generation. Well, in the preceding biblical text, Moses was instructing the children of Israel to pass on their love of God to the next generation. The impact of them passing it on would be one where you will have a people loving, serving and worshipping God. As we reflect on our own lives, what are we passing on to others? I pray we pass on to them the importance of having an abiding and loving relationship with God.
