10-29-2024 - John Scott | Psalms 51:10

One of the most daunting task for any homeowner is the responsibility of cleaning up. Cleaning up is really not an option. If you don’t clean up, your home will become filthy and hard to manage. If you are like me, sometimes you will put it off until the last minute. When that happens, your task becomes greater than it would have been had you started earlier. In our chosen text, David wrote this Psalm because he knew he needed to clean himself up. Sin had infiltrated his Heart and Mind. He betrayed his family, one of his soldiers and the relationship he had with God. As a result, he was approached by Nathan the prophet, who exposed his Sin and encouraged him to repent. David, feeling the weight of his Sin, pinned this Psalm. The outcome was a better David and a better King. Don’t allow Sin to dirty your Heart to the point where it becomes hard to clean up.

Amen!
