10-30-2024 - John Scott | 2 Corinthians 5:7

Most of us are aware of the story of Noah and the ark. From childhood, so many of us attended morning Sunday school at church where the story of the ark and the flood was one of the most popular shared. From the building of the ark and the specificity of the dimensions to the inclusion of all the animals & birds that were gathered to be sheltered in the ark. It is still a remarkable example of the power of the Lord.

When we look at Noah, there are 2 words that describe him and his life; Honor and Faith. In Genesis 6:9, it states, “Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” Noah was widely respected for being an honorable man. As such, God chose him to build the ark and ultimately serve as the catalyst to save those chosen by God; man, and animals.

Secondly, in Genesis 9:1, it states “Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.” Noah’s faith was rewarded. He followed all God’s instructions for building the ark and gathering all the animals. As a result, Noah along with his sons, because of his faith, were given the privilege to go out and replenish the earth.

As Paul states to the church in Corinth, “For we live by faith, not by sight”(2 Corinthians 5:7). That is how we are to walk every day, giving our lives to God. Whatever path our lives take, we must have hope by putting our trust in Him; not in what we may see. So, Focus on Jesus, live by faith, and know that His will is always in our best interest.

God Bless!
