What do you think of when someone says, “Surrender?” To surrender brings ideas of giving in, submitting or even quitting. Sometimes, to surrender can be a good thing. The most impactful, and maybe the most important decision you make, is when we surrender to the will of God the Father.
Let’s look at Moses. We see in Exodus 3, Moses, called by God, was charged with leading the release of Israelites from Pharaoh. “And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.” (v. 9-10). Moses felt unprepared and ill equipped to take on such a responsibility. No matter what God said or the signs and miracles He showed Moses, he was still hesitant. “But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”(v.13)
Are we like this at times? Do we feel God calling us to a task where we hesitate? A new opportunity that we don’t feel confident or capable of. We have all been there. I challenge you to go into prayer about any questions or decisions. Oswald Chambers stated, “There is only thing God wants of us, and that is our unconditional surrender.” When we Focus on Jesus, we can submit to His will with confidence. He will always be with us!
God Bless!
