In our chosen text, Abraham has met with God and has been told about his wife, Sarah having a son in their old age. Prior to receiving this message, Abraham entertains and takes care of three strangers, who Abraham realizes are sent by God. In the midst of meeting their needs, Abraham pleads to the three to not pass him by. After meeting the needs of the three men, God reveals to Abraham what will happen in this life. Abraham now experiences the favor of God upon his life. When we are obedient like Abraham and open to meeting the needs of others, we too can find the favor of God in our lives.
