A great theologian by the name of Dietrich Bonhoeffer once said, “You can’t have freedom without obedience, and you can’t have obedience without freedom. What I believe this great theologian was trying to say is that true obedience comes when we are free to choose to live for Him. Therefore, we can never take for granted the freedom God gives us to serve this present age. I believe this is the challenge Paul is issuing in this scripture. We should strive to serve and help others instead of purely making life for ourselves.
