There is a term being used now politically that seeks to make sure that people are informed. The term or word being used is the word, “Woke.” Woke defined means, “being aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice” (Webster’s Dictionary). When a person is “Woke,” the possibility of committing acts of racial and social injustice just decreased significantly. Here is 1 Peter’s letter to the Christians of this time, comes a warning to make sure one stay “Woke,” because our adversary the Devil looks for opportunities to devour and destroy us. Therefore, it is important as a believer that we remain cognizant of his tricks and always stay “Woke.”
