03-21-2023 - John Scott | 2 Corinthians 5:17

I remember as a young man watching the old gangster movies. In the majority of those films, the gangster was typically typecast as Italian. One of the phrases they would often say is “Forget about it.” This phrase was often stated as a way to let the person know that all has been forgiven and forgotten. Well, I believe Christ tells us the same thing when we accept him as Lord and Savior. Jesus is telling us to “Forget about it.” The problem comes when we can’t. I believe that in a subtle way, the writer of 2nd Corinthians is trying to tell us that the old is gone and that the new has come. Realizing that the new has come, I can rejoice over knowing that my past is just that old news.

To God be the Glory!
