In the gospel of Matthew, John the Baptist establishes himself as the forerunner of Jesus. He prepares the people by reminding them of the importance of Repentance. As believers, it is important for us to self-examine ourselves so that we are always working to better our relationship with God. When we repent, we are not only asking God for forgiveness, but also, we are turning away from those things that could separate us from God’s protection and provision. God wants His people to be an example of what it means to be a child of God. When reflecting on your daily actions, always take time to repent and start anew.
To God be the Glory!
