#BeMore - Confident

11-16-2022 - John Scott | Proverbs 3:21-22

You are at a cross-road. What do you do? Which direction do you turn? Better yet, how do you decide? I`m sure, like me, that you all have been faced with the dread of deciding, even for some of the most basic things. Most decisions we make daily are purely out of habit. The routine, the mundane. We don`t give any of those much thought.

Then there are those choices that are more difficult and challenging. Either way, we all have choices to face and decisions to make. What might be the key to that success? Remember, in doing so, it provides us with opportunities. Opportunities provide building blocks to our growth, character and, yes, our confidence.

I still remember a saying from my childhood. My grandmother used to always say, "go with your gut; let your conscience be your guide." I always felt that was her way of saying let God speak to you. He will guide your steps. That`s usually our first thought, right? What does my gut say? The residual result usually benefits you in the end.

Do you often find yourself rushed or restless when making a decision? As I look around, it appears that too many folks today settle for the easy options rather than making the best choices. Ask yourself why? Are you anxious? Are you in a hurry and want to get it out of the way? Do you care what others think? Doing the right thing is always the best choice; the hard work truly pays off. Many of us have made emotional decisions rather than practical decisions. At times, reacting in the moment, oftentimes causes us to go for escape rather than finding our peaceful place. So, where is that place of peace? Scriptures tell us "My son, let them not depart from your eyes— Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck. Stand still and know that God is right there; even in adversity" (Proverbs 3:21-22). My peaceful place; GOD!

When you are at peace, quiet and still in that place of comfort, that`s when we have our confidence. That confidence is His grace; showering down from the Father! "For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught" (v. 26).

I encourage you to Be More - be more confident; now, tomorrow and always … because of Him. It’s important to stay focused on His outcomes rather than our emotions.

Amen!
