One of the things that can grip a believer and I dare say anyone in life is this thing call fear. Fear can cripple us, paralyze us and stagnate us, so as to prohibit us from being all that God wants us to be. In this text, the Psalmist is exhorting his trust and belief in God. This trust and belief help him to overcome his fear. Because God guides him and has saved him, he will not allow fear to overcome his being. Maybe you have been challenged by fear in your life; however, God reminds us that He is our light and salvation. Knowing that He is this in our lives, we can overcome fear with trust. Remember, ?God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.?
