I never lost my praise

04-21-2022 - John Scott | Ezra 3:10-13

When life gets hectic, it has a way of draining you and weakening your resolve, particularly when issues are coming at you from all sides. If you are not careful, you can get so caught up with the cares of this life that you forget the importance of giving God praise. After all, our praise should never be contingent upon how we feel or what our circumstances are. God has been so good to us. I have learned that when I praise God despite what I am going through, I can get a glimpse of what God is actually doing in my life. For example, I may not have gotten that promotion, but God is still putting food on my table and clothes on my back. I still have something to praise God for.

This was the issue in the text. The people of Israel had recently been released from Babylonian Captivity. As a result of their release, the rebuilt the Temple that Solomon build, per orders of his father David. As many within the group was praising God for the rebuilt temple, there were some in the group crying because the rebuilt temple was not the same as the old one. Although they were free from captivity, they still couldn?t praise God. This is the tragic part of the story. Don?t let anything or anyone stop you from praising God. When you reflect on the Lord and what He has done for you, there should always be a praise on your lips.

To God be the Glory!
