As a little boy growing up, I often used to watch Sesame Street. One of the segments on the show would challenge the viewer to figure out which item was different from the others. It went something like this, “One of these things is not like the other, which one is different do you know. Can you tell which thing is not like the other and I tell you if it is so.” Almost every time, I was able to identify the different item.
Paul, in his letter to the Church in Philippi, points out the importance of being the same. It is being the same in mind, love, spirit, and purpose that helps the church fulfill its purpose in life. Being the same, helps to maintain unity. As men of God, lets strive to be the same in mind, love, spirit and purpose for God. In doing so, we not only fulfill our purpose, but also, the purpose God has ordained for the church.
To God be the Glory!
